To make your experience as positive as possible, Dr. Weiss and his team offer expert orthopedic care after business hours. What injuries need immediate orthopedic care?

Dr. Weiss provides comprehensive care for a wide range of conditions, including trauma, sports injuries, and pediatric orthopedic needs. He treats many injuries outside of normal office hours, including:

  • Fractures (broken bones)
  • Strains and sprain
  • Joint injuries
  • Sports injuries

You should call the office of Andrew B. Weiss, MD, any time you or your child sustains an injury that causes severe pain, swelling, or deformity. If the injury involves a broken bone that pierces the skin or an open wound with heavy bleeding, you need to go to an emergency room right away.

What does after-hours orthopedic care involve?

Dr. Weiss and his team strive to accommodate your needs by providing same-day orthopedic care whenever possible. If Dr. Weiss thinks your injury requires prompt treatment, he may have you come in after normal business hours.

First, Dr. Weiss evaluates your condition and asks you to describe how the injury occurred. He examines the injured area and may take tests, such as an in-office digital X-ray.

After Dr. Weiss diagnoses your condition, he provides expert orthopedic care right away. Depending on the type and severity of your injury, treatment may include casting, bracing, or wearing a walking boot. Dr. Weiss uses the highest quality products, including waterproof AquaCast® Liners, Ossur®, and Aircast® braces, and OPED boots.

If your injury requires surgery, Dr. Weiss may perform minimally invasive arthroscopy. After he provides surgical or nonsurgical treatment, Dr. Weiss develops a personalized rehabilitation plan that may include physical therapy and exercise.
